How can I identify team members who are serious about making a success of this business?
Why can't my sponsor or upline place new members below me, in both my legs?
What are my responsibilities as a sponsor?
Observe their actions! Watch for certain behaviors, traits and habits that emerge. Obviously, you will want to support (communication, tools, 3-ways, etc.) ALL your associates; however the majority of your support efforts must necessarily flow to those whose actions demonstrate they are becoming your key leaders.
RESULTS! Your emerging leaders will be proactive in their efforts will likely have results early on.
Regular, consistent communication. Your leaders will almost daily be phoning you, asking thoughtful questions, sending email, sharing ideas and strategies, informing you of their plans, etc. They will promptly return YOUR calls and messages, eager to learn and absorb information that will help them become more effective.
Being on autoship* for increasing amounts of product. This indicates people are actively doing tastings or parties as well as retailing to local contacts. Moreover, as they build their own, local groups, they will keep on hand a supply of product and assorted TOOLS (kits, literature, CD's, etc.) to accomodate helping their NEW members get off to a faster start.
* Autoship is not required, but a great way to remain Active and Qualified.
Participating in EVENTS. Taking part in opportunity and training calls as well as regional or national events is a necessity for serious builders. We are in business FOR ourselves but not BY ourselves. Those who isolate themselves and don't take advantage of the many aspects of team support are greatly handicapping themselves.
The short answer is that network marketing only "works" if EACH member does his fair share. The harsher answer is that there's no free lunch in this world of ours! In many marketing plans, there are three, four or even more legs to build, thus great effort is required to advance in rank and potentially achieve maximum commissions. MonaVie's plan has only TWO legs to build, thus is much "friendlier." Everyone should expect to build TWO legs and we suggest you place new members left, right, left right, in sequence. In time, leaders will emerge, and one leg or the other will gain greater momentum and take on a life of its own. At this point, you can focus primarily on your opposite leg.
If you have an especially ACTIVE sponsor, you will likely see "spillover" in the common leg you are sharing with your sponsor. This should not be "expected," as if it were owed to you, but should be considered good fortune indeed!
As to specifically WHY it is unwise and not recommended that sponsors place people into BOTH legs of a new member (aside from the free lunch issue!) ...
The very feature that makes binary comp plans appealing to many is that everyone has just TWO legs, far left and far right, and once the two qualifying members are placed into those legs, all others will fall into the first available position in whichever leg has been pre-selected. For all others in those same, common legs, it is greatly motivating to see spillover occurring. People realize that unless they go to work and build their own, opposite leg, they are leaving money on the table!

Logically, you will WANT to support your team and assist them in becoming successful. It's YOUR success as well! Following are some tips and guidelines:
LEARN as much as humanly possible about Monavie's product, industry, comp plan, company -- EVERY aspect! Become the kind of "expert" that will instill confidence in others. It's what leaders do. Our TRAINING AND SUPPORT website ( BlackDiamondUniversity.com ) can help to MAKE you an informed and competent sponsor, but YOU must invest the time and effort it takes to GROW into this kind of LEADER.
Be proactive in supporting your team. Keep in touch with them regularly. Send out bulletins, forward items of interest, stay on top of news in the marketplace and from corporate. Arrange special calls just for your own group.
Do NOT expect your sponsor to do YOUR work. As your independent organizations grow, your sponsor will be lending support to many ... as will YOU be in time as your network expands. It is your responsibility to work directly with those whom you enroll, give them basic training and orientation, assist them with 3-way calls as needed, etc. |
